I emailed our contact at the adoption agency to let her know when we'll be on vacation, just in case she needs to call us with some good news. She said we're about number 20 on the list. Not too bad considering there are about 170 families somewhere in the adoption process. She also said they're averaging about 10 placements a month, which would mean it could be another couple of months. I talked to my friend who recently came back from Vietnam with their daughter. She thinks we should be as ready as we can because once we get our referral she doesn't think it will be too long before we travel.
We're doing what we can now to get ready here. Her room is ready and we have some things packed. But I can't buy any clothes for her until I know how big she is. I even bought school supplies for the boys already so I don't have to worry about doing that later.

Still no news
Well, obviously we're still waiting. Otherwise I would have posted some news. We still haven't heard anything from the adoption agency. Our dossier has been in Vietnam for 3 weeks already. Time is going fast. And since it's summer, we've been keeping busy. I know I need to be patient. I think of all the other families who are adopting in programs other than Vietnam, where the process is slower. We're very fortunate to be in a program with a short referral time. We're hoping to hear sometime in July. It's like being pregnant and waiting to go into labor any day.
